My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is psychodynamic. Finding a sense of purpose in order to fulfill one's destiny is the goal of all therapy. Creating and discovering a sense of meaning as well as removing obstacles to self-realization are the focus of the process.
I work with issues of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma as well as focusing on the means to achieve peace in relationships. Working through the experience of trauma is often facilitated by a partnership where trust is built between therapist and client. I am experienced in treating issues of grief.
One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.— Carl Jung
Having been trained in the Jungian modality, I have extensive experience working with dreams, active imagination, and the creative process. Discovering symbols which speak to the soul often facilitates a process of healing.
Additionally, my studies and practice of Eastern philosophy and psychology as well as other world religions and spiritual paths continues to enhance my depth-oriented approach where compassion, insight, and empathy are the keystones of the process.
